A Cessna 206 aircraft, 8R-GGE, crash-landed Arau on Wednesday morning. Flight Operations Director of Air Services Limited, Annette Arjoon-Martins reported that neither the pilot nor the four passengers were injured. The passengers were said to be officers of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC).
The aircraft crashed on landing around 10:30 a.m. and was badly damaged. Arjoon-Martins explained that the Arau airstrip is very short and rough.
Investigations are continuing.
