Five Pilots, 23 technicians and engineers of the Guyana Defence Force, together with a member of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority have successfully concluded specialist training.
The training was provided by the China National Aero-Technology import and Export Corporation (CATIC).
At a simple closing ceremony at the GDF air corps hangar at Timerhi commanding officer lieutenant colonel Cargill Kyte said the training has enhanced the operation and maintenance of its Harbin Y-12 aircraft.
Six graduates are now eligible to have their licenses endorsed by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
CATIC Project Manager, Mr. Li Ning, said the company is committed to providing satisfactory technical services to the GDF.
While Chief of Staff, commodore Gary Best indicated that this is yet another successful collaboration between Guyana and China which will add value and technical competence to the force.
