Single Engine Aircraft Crashes on Takeoff at Arau


Three persons are reported to be seriously injured following a single engine aircraft crash in the interior of Guyana.The accident took place while taking off from the Arau airstrip in Region Seven around 11:14 a.m.

According to the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) the aircraft is privately owned and operated by Bernard Singh.

The aircraft is a Piper PA-32 Cherokee with a tail number of N87619 registered in the USA.

A rescue team has been dispatched to the area, and the pilot is in contact with the Rescue Coordination Centre located at the Timehri Control tower.
