Anticipated new air carrier to Guyana, Dynamic Airways launched their services with a bang in New York during a special ceremony at the John F. Kennedy’s Airport Sheraton Hotel last Thursday.
The American Carrier which will be supported by services to be provided by Roraima Airway in Guyana, will be offering passengers four flights per week from Guyana to New York and back.
Dynamic Airways Vice President of Business Development – Tom Johnson told a gathering of travel agents, Guyanese citizens, community leaders and business persons that, Dynamic Airways is determined to provide good service as promised to the President and people of Guyana.
He noted that Dynamic Airways has several aircraft, and one would be stationed in Guyana on a permanent basis. Johnson alluded to the fact that Dynamic owns their planes, and comforted passengers that delays would be minimal since there will be back up carriers on the east coast of the US. Johnson expressed thanks to the Guyana Government for reaching out to the UK based group – ASM which merged the airline with Guyanese destination.
Captain Gerry Gouveia – Chief Executive Officer of Roraima Airways in Guyana was also present for the event. He told the gathering that Guyana was on the threshold of becoming a strong tourism market and as such, any additional lift for passengers and tourists would be a welcomed opportunity. The veteran pilot indicated that Dynamic Airways was coming in at a time when every possible addition to the carriers now serving Guyana would be an asset. “It creates room for advanced and higher service standards, as well as reasonable fares offered to the Guyanese travelling public,” the guests heard.
Gouveia said Dynamic Airways is prepared to work closely with any carrier who sought their cooperation. He said the company was not aiming to create any shift or disruption in the Guyanese aviation industry, but is merely coming in at a time when Guyana do need additional airlift, and the ability of passengers to have more flexibility when it comes to making plans for their travel.
Guyana’s Consul General in New York – Hon. Brentnol Evans, welcomed the company on behalf of the Government of Guyana. He said that with the airport and runway expansion plans being undertaken in reference to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), the Government is prepared to welcome any investor whose interest would add to the development of the aviation sector in general, as well as the opportunity to provide increased uplift of produce and other products destined for international markets.
Dynamic flights will depart Guyana on Fridays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30 am, while the return trips will depart the JFK Airport at 9:00 am on the same days. Persons may contact their travel agents or visit – www.airdynamic.com.
