When ANA, Japan’s largest airline, announced that the airline will decorated their planes with Star Wars characters as part of an agreement with The Walt Disney Company (Japan), it fortified the new era that we are living in regarding advertising and branding in the movie industry.
Boeing has released a time-lapse video with the Dreamliner being painted in the Star Wars livery. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled for theatrical release in December 2015.
In the past, ANA has operated aircraft featuring the Pokémon fictional characters. Five Boeing 747-400s, four 767-300s and a Boeing 777-300 received special schemes related to these fictional Japanese creatures throughout the years.
