The co-pilot on-board a United Airlines flight from Houston to San Francisco lost consciousness on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The plane eventually diverted to the Albuquerque International Sunport, where it landed safely at 8:20 a.m.
United Airlines told to ABC News that Flight 1614 was diverted when a crew member became ill.
“The crew followed procedures and the aircraft landed safely,” the airline added. “We are working to get our customers to their final destinations.”
The incident is the second in as many days that a pilot became incapacitated in the cockpit. An American Airlines pilot died on Monday during a flight from Phoenix to Boston.
