Airbus begins production of first U.S.-built A320
Airbus announced that it has received the major component assemblies for the first A320 that will be produced at the company’s U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama.
One year ago on April 25th 2016, Airbus delivered its first U.S-manufactured A321 to JetBlue, and has since gone on the deliver 27 A321s.
The Mobil facility which is equipped to build three members of the A320 Family: A319, A320 and A321, began production in July 2015.
The commencement of A320 production is important milestone for the Airbus manufacturing facility. This summer, Spirit Airlines will be the recipient of the first A320.
