GCAA investigating second plane crash at Eteringbang
The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the crash of a single engine Cessna aircraft that crashed shortly after taking off Eteringbang on Tuesday morning.
The aircraft, 8R-GPR, registered to Wings Aviation, was involved in the accident around 11:00 a.m. while on a shuttling mission between Eteringbang and Ekereku.
A statement from GCAA said that the pilot, Dominique Waddell, suffered minor injuries.
Officials from the Accident and Investigation Group supported by a team from GCAA is en route to the crash site to start their investigations.
This accident is the second in as many weeks, following the fatal crash of a Roraima Airways Islander on July 25, where the pilot Collin Martin perished in that crash.
